Description

The Fusion Energi is the plug-in hybrid version of the second-generation Fusion, sold from 2013 to 2020. It uses a 2.0 Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery of about 7.6 kWh, giving about 20 miles (about 30 km) of electric range in the US test cycle. Combined output is about 188 hp, and the car has an electronic CVT. The battery sits in the boot and cuts luggage space to about 300 liters, and the car has only four usable seats in some versions. It was fast to charge on a 240-volt charger, taking a few hours. Fuel use after the battery is empty is similar to the regular Fusion Hybrid.
