Description
The Forester e-Boxer is the hybrid version of the fifth-generation Forester, sold from 2020 in Europe and Japan. It combines a 2.0 boxer petrol engine of about 150 hp with an electric motor of about 17 hp and a small lithium-ion battery of about 0.6 kWh, with a total output of about 150 PS. The system is a mild hybrid and it can drive on electric power only for short distances at low speed. It comes only with a Lineartronic CVT and all-wheel drive. The boot is slightly smaller than in the petrol car because of the battery. Fuel economy is better than the petrol version, but the car is not a plug-in hybrid.
