Description

The second generation Tesla Model 3, launched in late 2020 as 2021 model year, introduced significant refinements based on four years of customer feedback and manufacturing experience. This mid-cycle refresh brought improved build quality, updated interior materials with new center console design, and revolutionary heat pump technology for dramatically better cold-weather efficiency. The exterior received subtle but meaningful changes including chrome delete black trim, new headlight and taillight designs, power trunk, and improved aerodynamics. Interior gained double-pane acoustic glass for reduced noise, wireless phone charging, metal scroll wheels on steering wheel, and USB-C ports throughout. Most significantly, Tesla switched to AMD Ryzen processor replacing the older Intel Atom, providing dramatically faster infotainment performance and gaming capabilities. The refresh maintained the core platform while addressing nearly every criticism of the original generation.
