The Ford 5.0L Coyote V8 is Ford's modern naturally aspirated DOHC V8, introduced for the 2011 model year as the long-awaited return of the 5.0 badge in the Mustang GT. Although it evolved from the broader Modular V8 family, the Coyote was a major redesign rather than a mild update, created to deliver strong power, high-RPM capability, and modern efficiency from a compact all-aluminum V8.
