Description

The Honda J35 is a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 petrol engine produced since 1998 as part of Honda's J-series, and one of the company's longest-running and most widely used engines for larger vehicles. Across more than two decades of production and multiple revisions, it has powered the V6 Accord, Pilot, Ridgeline, and Odyssey, as well as the Acura MDX, TL, and RL, making it one of the most common engines behind Honda and Acura's larger, family-oriented models.

Using a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) VTEC layout rather than the DOHC arrangement found in Honda's smaller performance engines, the J35 prioritizes smoothness, low-end torque, and quiet refinement over high-RPM drama. Output has grown considerably across the engine's various revisions, from around 244hp in earlier applications up to 306hp in the most recent VCM (Variable Cylinder Management) versions, with torque figures between 315 and 366Nm.
