Description
The Fiat 2.0 MultiJet is the larger and more modern four-cylinder branch of the passenger-car MultiJet family, introduced in 2008 as a successor to some of the older 1.9-liter roles. It was created to provide stronger performance, better refinement, and improved emissions capability in medium and larger vehicles while keeping the core MultiJet strengths of common-rail efficiency and strong diesel torque.
With a displacement of 1956 cc, a cast-iron block, aluminum head, DOHC layout, and turbocharged common-rail diesel injection, the 2.0 MultiJet covered a wide range of outputs depending on application. In mainstream form it produced roughly 110 to 190 HP, with torque commonly ranging from around 260 to 380 Nm. That made it suitable for larger hatchbacks, sedans, crossovers, and even some more premium applications across several brands.
In practice, the 2.0 MultiJet is the branch of the family that feels most grown-up in heavier vehicles. It offers stronger motorway performance, better reserve torque, and wider application range than the smaller 1.3 and 1.6 units. At the same time, it remains part of the same MultiJet philosophy - efficient common-rail diesel performance delivered through flexible calibration across many brands and markets.
